Artist bio: Mahsa and Marjan Vahdat are Iranian vocalists and composers with deep roots in Persian classical and regional music. Over the past three decades, they have developed a distinct musical language rooted in traditional and regional Iranian music and poetry and their personal experience as women who defied bans imposed by Authorities after the Islamic Revolution, and now shaping their music while we are in exile. They are part of an international artistic community committed to cultural dialogue, freedom of expression, and the preservation and renewal of musical traditions.
Their work reflects the resilience of Iranian women, the strength of oral traditions, and the power of the human voice to carry memory, identity, and collective experience.
